The Deputy Commissioner thoroughly reviewed preparations for Eid prayers at major shrines and public places in Srinagar, emphasizing the need for coordinated efforts among various departments. Officers were instructed to ensure that essential facilities and amenities are established in advance to facilitate smooth religious gatherings and enhance the experience for devotees. In terms of supply, the DC directed the Animal and Sheep Husbandry Departments to guarantee an adequate availability of sacrificial animals and poultry in local markets to meet public demand during Eid-ul-Azha. Additionally, the Srinagar Municipal Corporation was tasked with setting up designated collection centers for the disposal of hides and fleeces, ensuring proper sanitation and environmental hygiene throughout the city during the festivities. The DC also called for intensified cleanliness drives and the functionality of streetlights, particularly around major religious sites. To combat potential issues of overcharging and black marketing, special market checking teams were established, comprising various departmental officers to monitor quality and pricing in the markets. Furthermore, the DC instructed the Public Health Engineering and Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited to ensure uninterrupted water and electricity supply at key religious locations. The Health Department was directed to deploy medical staff and ambulances at significant shrines to address any healthcare needs during the celebrations. Infrastructure improvements were also prioritized, with directives for immediate road repairs leading to major religious sites to facilitate the movement of devotees. The Traffic Police were tasked with developing a comprehensive traffic management plan, while the Regional Transport Office was instructed to ensure sufficient public transport availability for the occasion. In rural areas, Block Development Officers were mobilized to enhance arrangements for public convenience. Fire and Emergency Services, along with the State Disaster Response Force, were directed to maintain a presence at major congregation points to ensure safety and effective crowd management. The Deputy Commissioner underscored the importance of inter-departmental coordination and a proactive approach to ensure a peaceful and smooth celebration of Eid-ul-Azha.
