Shopian: Police on Monday said that seized five vehicles, including two JCBs, two tractors and one tipper for unauthorized extraction and transportation of minerals in Zainapora and Imamsahib areas of Shopian district.
In a statement issued here on Monday Police said vehicles during routine patrolling were intercepted and found operating without valid permission or royalty documents. Two separate FIRs have been registered at Police Stations Zainapora and Imamsahib under relevant sections of law. In its statement Police said investigations have been initiated and reiterated its commitment to curb illegal mining activities in the district.
