Srinagar, May 18 : The Meteorological Centre Srinagar on Monday forecast generally dry weather across Jammu and Kashmir on May 18, while predicting light rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds at many places from May 19 to 21.
According to the MeT department, the weather is expected to remain partly cloudy during the three-day period with spells of light rain, thunder and gusty winds, mainly during afternoon and evening hours. Hailstorms are also likely at a few places.
The forecast stated that from May 22 to 25, weather conditions would remain generally dry during the forenoon, while brief showers may occur at scattered places towards afternoon and late afternoon hours.
From May 26 to 28, the weather is expected to remain generally dry across the Union Territory.
Meanwhile, the MeT Centre Srinagar issued an advisory warning of possible thunder, lightning and gusty winds with speeds of 40-50 kilometres per hour at a few places in Kashmir division and Jammu division during May 19-21.
The department also said that hot and dry weather conditions are likely to prevail at many places, with heatwave conditions expected at isolated plains of Jammu division on Monday.
People have been advised to remain cautious during thunderstorm activity and follow administrative and traffic advisories.
