According to a government order issued by the Finance Department, the DA has been revised from 58 per cent to 60 per cent of Basic Pay with effect from January 1, 2026.
The order stated that arrears on account of the additional DA instalment from January to April 2026 will be credited to the GPF accounts of employees covered under the General Provident Fund scheme, while employees under the New Pension Scheme (NPS) will receive the arrears in cash.
“In respect of NPS employees, the employer’s contribution of 14 per cent on DA arrears shall also be drawn, and 10 per cent of the amount, being the employee’s share, shall be deducted at source for credit to the respective PRAN numbers,” the order said.
The government further clarified that the revised DA will form part of the monthly salary from May 2026 onwards.
