SRINAGAR, May 18: Government of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday announced a two per cent increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for pensioners and family pensioners under the 7th Pay Commission.
According to an order issued by the Finance Department, the DA has been raised from 58 per cent to 60 per cent of the basic pension/basic family pension with effect from January 1, 2026.
The order said arrears for the period from January to April 2026 would be paid in cash during May 2026, while the revised DA would be included in the monthly pension from May onwards.
“The payment on account of Dearness Allowance involving a fraction of a rupee shall be rounded off to the next higher rupee,” the order stated.
The government also clarified that all other existing provisions governing the grant of DA on pension and family pension would continue to remain in force.
