Dr Bilal directs saturation of targets, expediting pace of work

 

Anantnag :District Development Commissioner Anantnag (DDC), Dr. Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat Sunday  chaired a meeting at DC Office to review the implementation and progress achieved under the Scheme for Revival, Restoration, Preservation and Maintenance of Heritage and Architecture, PM Surya GharMuft Bijli (SGMB) Yojana and Solarization in the district.

The meeting was attended by ADC, SEs PWD and KPDCL, CPO, Exens PWD and PDD, representative of JAKEDA, AEEs and other concerned officials.

During the meeting, officers from concerned departments briefed the chair about the physical and financial progress achieved under these schemes in the district so far.

Regarding the Scheme for RRP&MHA, it was informed that out of 21 approved projects, four have been completed while 16 are under execution, of which 10 are expected to be completed this year.

Highlighting the significance of the scheme, the DDC issued directions to the executing agencies to expedite the pace of work on all pending projects while ensuring the durability and quality of the buildings and structures. He said the completion of these projects will be instrumental to revive heritage and preserve old architecture in the district.

Reviewing the progress of PM SGMB Yojana, the DDC directed the concerned officers to expedite disposal of pending inspections and ensure timely completion of installations in favor of the feasible cases. He emphasized maintaining quality standards and ensuring maximum public outreach and beneficiary facilitation. He said the scheme is highly beneficial to harness clean and green energy while reducing the electricity bills of the consumers.

The meeting was informed that a total of 5143 applications have been received in the district, out of which feasibility for 4928 cases has been approved. It was given out that 2332 rooftop solar installations have been completed with an installed capacity of 8.63 MW against the applied capacity of 16.95 MW. It was further apprised that subsidy amounting to Rs 17.65 crore has been disbursed among 2393 beneficiaries under the scheme so far.

Regarding the Solarization, details were given that 541 buildings have been allocated under the programme in the district. Out of these, material has been supplied for 472 buildings with a capacity of 5833 kW, while installation has been completed in 242 buildings with a capacity of 3532 kW. Additionally, material installation is under process for 230 buildings with a capacity of 2301 kW besides smart meter installation has been completed in 172 buildings with a capacity of 1969 kW.

Dr. Bilal impressed upon the concerned executing agencies and officers to work in close coordination for achieving the targets within stipulated timelines. He said the complete solarization of government buildings will lower the burden on power stations besides ensuring sustainable and clean energy to the public institutions.
