Horticulture Directorate Jammu holds auction of fruit, dry wood

JAMMU, MAY 16: The Directorate of Horticulture Jammu under the chairmanship of Director Gul Syed, on Saturday organised the departmental auction-2026.

The auction material included fruit crop, green wood and pruned dry wood of departmental orchards and nurseries.

Present on the occasion were Joint Director Salil Gupta; Deputy Director (Central) Mukesh Kumar; Deputy Director Planning Divya Mahajan; Accounts Officer Nirmal Tikku; all Chief Horticulture Officers of Jammu Province; Assistant Director Sunil Gupta; all DL-SMSs of Jammu Province; Horticulture Information & Publicity Officer Randhir Singh Parihar  (Nodal Officer for Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan), Soil Analyst Ashwani Sharma Horticulture Development  Officer Information Dr. Vijay Kumar and Horticulture Development Officers along with technical staff.

Later, a detailed review meeting was held with the Chief Horticulture Officers of the province regarding the implementation and progress of the departmental schemes and programmers. Discussions focused on generating awareness among farmers, setting plantation targets, nursery development, cultivation of quality planting material and effective field-level monitoring of schemes.

The Director stressed upon all officers and field functionaries to work with dedication for the welfare of the farming community and to ensure better outreach of government schemes among orchardists and farmers.

Later, the officers and officials took “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan” pledge and reaffirmed their commitment towards creating awareness against drug abuse and promoting a healthy, drug-free society.
