Doda : Deputy Commissioner Doda Krishan Lal Friday chaired a meeting in the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex to review the implementation and progress of the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan (PM-SYM) Scheme.

The meeting focused on enhancing registration under the scheme and ensuring wider outreach among eligible beneficiaries across the district.

The DC reviewed the registration progress, awareness activities, departmental coordination, monitoring mechanisms and data collection related to the scheme. He directed the concerned officers to intensify awareness campaigns at the Panchayat, Block and Tehsil levels to enroll maximum eligible beneficiaries including labourers, street vendors, drivers, artisans, agricultural workers, construction workers and other unorganised sector employees under the scheme. He further instructed the Labour Department to ensure proper collection and verification of domestic labour data as well as construction workers’ records, while directing the Agriculture Department to provide detailed data of agricultural labourers for effective registration under the scheme.

The Deputy Commissioner further directed Executive Officer MC and other departments to facilitate enrollment of civic workers and eligible temporary employees to register under the PM-SYM Scheme. He emphasized close coordination with Common Service Centres (CSCs), field functionaries and departmental officers to facilitate smooth implementation of the scheme. The DC instructed officers to organise special awareness and registration camps in rural and far-flung areas to facilitate enrollment. He further stressed the need for regular monitoring, target-based implementation, timely submission of progress reports and maintaining accurate beneficiary data. Detailed discussions were also held regarding departmental targets and registration parameters.

The meeting was attended by ACR Ashraf Pervez; ACD Din Mohammad Afaqi, District Horticulture Officer and representatives from other departments, while Additional Deputy Commissioner Anil Kumar Thakur; ADC Bhdererwh Sunil Bhutyal, PO ICDS Akhtar Hussain Qazi, SE Hydraulic Circle, ACP Mushraf Haff and other officers attended the meeting virtually.

Stress was laid on enrollment of workers associated with the Handloom, Agriculture, Labour, PHE, PWD, ICDS, Health, Social Welfare, Sports and other departments.
