Imposes ₹1 Lakh Fine ,14 Vehicles Seized, 21 Documents Face Suspension during Drive
Baramulla, May 16: The Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) Baramulla launched a massive enforcement drive across various parts of Baramulla district under the supervision of ARTO Baramulla Mudasir Ahmad Wani to curb traffic violations and strengthen road safety measures.
The special checking campaign was conducted by the MVD enforcement team, including MVI Danish, MVI Abdul Hamid and other officials, targeting violators involved in breaches of transport and traffic regulations.
During the drive, authorities imposed 31 challans against violators for various offences and realised fines amounting to nearly ₹1 lakh. In addition, 19 vehicles were blacklisted for repeated violations and non-compliance with transport norms.
In a major action, 21 Driving Licences (DLs), Registration Certificates (RCs) and Route Permits (RPs) were recommended for suspension for serious traffic violations and breach of permit conditions.
The enforcement team also seized 14 vehicles during the operation for offences including overloading, operating without valid documents and other traffic violations.
ARTO stated that the enforcement drives will continue across Baramulla district to ensure strict implementation of traffic laws, promote responsible driving behaviour and enhance road safety for the general public
