Budgam, May 15: Continuing its sustained crackdown against drug trafficking and narcotics abuse under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, J&K Police attached residential properties belonging to two drug peddlers in the Chadoora area of district Budgam.

At Chitroo Dangarpora, J&K Police attached a one-storey residential house worth approximately ₹30 lakhs belonging to Ghulam Nabi Wani son of Ghulam Mohammad Wani resident of Chitroo Dangarpora, Chadoora. The property was attached in connection with Case FIR No. 181/2025 registered under Sections 8/20/29 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Chadoora. Pertinently, during investigation of the said case, more than 300 kilograms of Poppy Husk/Fukki had been recovered from the premises last year. Investigation further revealed that the property had been illegally acquired through proceeds generated from narcotics trafficking and was being used for storage, processing, and distribution of contraband substances.

In a separate operation at Hassipora Chadoora, Police attached a two-storeyed residential house worth approximately ₹50–55 lakhs belonging to Mohd Hashim Raina son of Abdul Samad resident of Hassipora, Chadoora. The property was attached in connection with Case FIR No. 35/2026 registered under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Chadoora. Pertinently, more than 9 kilograms of Charas-like substance had been recovered last month from a band saw mill at village Kasermulla, Chadoora during investigation of the case. Accordingly, action under the relevant provisions of the NDPS Act was initiated as part of the ongoing efforts to dismantle narcotics networks and target assets created through the illegal drug trade.

J&K Police reiterates its firm commitment towards eradicating the menace of drugs from society and warns that stringent legal action shall continue against all individuals involved in narcotics trafficking and other related unlawful activities.
