‘Integrity, Transparency & Accountability: Three Pillars of Good Governance’

Kishtwar :Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Pankaj Kumar Sharma Thursday chaired an introductory meeting of nominated District Vigilance Officers (DVOs) (DDOs) with the new SSP Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Doda-Kishtwar Range Vipan Chandran at the DC Office Complex.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that the primary objective of the interaction was to strengthen accessibility, coordination and cooperation between the district administration and the Anti-Corruption Bureau. He urged the District Vigilance Officers, including DDOs, District and Sectoral Officers to actively raise and report field-level issues and governance-related concerns for timely redressal.

Highlighting the importance of good governance, the DC stated that integrity, transparency and accountability are the three fundamental pillars of effective administration. He said that the Vigilance Organisation has an important role in identifying gaps in governance, which can be effectively bridged through proactive vigilance by the DVOs.

The DC stressed the need for preventive vigilance through awareness and timely reporting of any irregularities, unnecessary demands, procedural violations, or lapses in governance. He directed all officers to strictly adhere to the General Financial Rules (GFRs) and ensure transparency in official functioning.

He further stated that any matter involving lack of adherence to rules, criminal intent, misuse of official position, or other suspicious activities should be immediately brought to the notice of the SSP ACB DKR. He emphasized that strict and exemplary punishment must be ensured in proven cases so as to deter others from indulging in corrupt practices.

SSP ACB interacted with the officers and assured full cooperation from the Anti-Corruption Bureau in addressing complaints and strengthening vigilance mechanisms in the district.

The DC urged all DVOs to maintain close coordination with the ACB and work collectively to fill governance gaps, ensuring accountability and public trust in the administration.

The meeting was attended by all DVOs; including ADDC Vinod Kumar Behnal; ADC Pawan Kotwal; PO ICDS Dr. Rishi Kumar Sharma; ACR Idrees Lone; ACD Manoj Kumar; SDM Dr.Mohd Ashraf; SDM Nayeem Ur Rehman; ACP Neeraj Sharma; ALC MamtaSudershan; ARTO Tasleem Wani; CEO Municipal Council Mirza Mumtaz Iqbal; CAO Kushal Chandel; CHO Sajid Mustafa; DSEO Suresh Sharma; MS DH Dr.Yudhvir Singh Kotwal; DPM JKRLM; besides other district and sectoral officers and concerned staff.
