Srinagar: Northern Army Commander Pratik Sharma on Wednesday chaired a security review and coordination meeting in Srinagar, taking stock of the overall security situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
Officials said the meeting was attended by key stakeholders, where Joint Control Centres (JCCs) shared updates on ground conditions and ongoing operations. The Army Commander stressed the need for better coordination among agencies and faster sharing of intelligence to deal with security challenges effectively.
Army spokesman said that “Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, chaired a security review and coordination meeting at Srinagar, where he was briefed by all Joint Control Centres (JCC) and received comprehensive operational updates on the prevailing security situation in the presence of key stakeholders.
“The Army Commander emphasised strengthening inter-agency Synergy to ensure rapid intelligence dissemination and effective execution of joint operations,” he said.
Earlier, Lt Gen Sharma visited forward areas along the Line of Control (LoC) in North Kashmir to review operational preparedness and assess the summer security strategy. The visit comes at a time when security forces remain alert along the border during the summer months.
The spokesman further said Commander also visited forward areas along the LoC in North Kashmir to assess the existing security dynamics, summer strategy and review operational preparedness across the region.
“During interaction with the troops deployed along the LoC, the Army Commander appreciated their unwavering spirit, operational acumen and tireless commitment in service to the nation,” he added.
He encouraged all ranks to pursue excellence in operational capability, remain vigilant, responsive and combat-ready at all times.
Officials said the visit and meeting were aimed at strengthening security arrangements and ensuring effective coordination among forces to maintain peace and stability in the region.
