DC Budgam chairs meeting on HADP, JKCIP

Budgam :Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Athar Aamir khan chaired a meeting on Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) and Jammu & Kashmir Competitiveness Improvement Project (JKCIP) to assess the physical and financial progress achieved under various agriculture and allied sector initiatives in the district.

The meeting was attended by ADDC Budgam Vivek Agarwal , PO ICDS Budgam, CPO Budgam, Chief Agriculture officer, Chief Horticulture officer, Chief Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, AD Fisheries, officers from Sericulture, Horticulture Planning & Marketing departments, NABARD  and other concerned stakeholders.

During the meeting, a detailed presentation was given highlighting the status of applications, approvals, establishment of units, financial utilization, skilling initiatives under Daksh Kisan, Kisan KhidmatGhars (KKGs), credit linkage and project-wise achievements under HADP and JKCIP.

Reviewing the progress under Daksh Kisan skilling initiative, the DC was informed that over 34,000 farmers have enrolled in various courses so far in the District.

The DC also took stock of the functioning of Kisan KhidmatGhars in the district.

While reviewing JKCIP implementation, the DC emphasized the need for accelerating field-level execution of approved cases and ensuring that benefits reach genuine farmers within stipulated timelines.

Speaking on the occasion, DC Budgam said that HADP and JKCIP are transformative initiatives aimed at strengthening the rural economy and improving livelihood opportunities for farmers and youth associated with the agriculture and allied sectors.

He stressed upon all departments to work in close coordination for achieving tangible outcomes on the ground.

“Focus must remain on timely establishment of approved units, saturation of beneficiary-oriented schemes and robust monitoring through regular field verification,” the DC said.

He further directed officers to intensify awareness campaigns at the grassroots level so that maximum eligible farmers can avail benefits under various schemes.

The DC also emphasized strengthening of Kisan KhidmatGhars and ensuring better digital outreach, farmer registration and eKYC completion across the district. He directed officers to conduct regular inspections and maintain close coordination with field functionaries for effective implementation of schemes.

The DC designates Additional District Development Commissioner Budgam as District Nodal Officer for HADP to strengthen monitoring, verification and inter-departmental coordination at the district level.

The DC Said that the District administration is focused towards making Budgam a model district in implementation of agriculture and allied sector reforms through effective execution, transparency and farmer-centric governance.
