Srinagar :: Kashmir Medical College and Hospital (KMCH) in Sempora on Saturday inaugurated advanced medical technologies in its Dermatology and Ophthalmology departments, enhancing healthcare accessibility in the region.
The Dermatology department introduced several cutting-edge technologies, including the Quadruple Diode Laser for hair reduction, Q-Switch ND Laser, Ablative & Fractional CO2 Laser, Dermapen 4 for microneedling, and a Narrow Band UV Chamber, aimed at improving treatment options for various skin conditions. In parallel, the Ophthalmology department launched advanced diagnostic systems and services, such as Phacoemulsification with Premium IOLs, Retina & Vitreous Care, and specialized care for squint and pediatric patients. These advancements significantly enhance the quality of eye care services offered at KMCH. The inauguration ceremony was attended by key figures, including Executive Director Insha Qazi, Principal/Dean Prof. Nazir Ahmad Khan, and department heads. In her address, Qazi emphasized the importance of these new technologies in providing world-class healthcare locally, reducing patient wait times, and ensuring affordable treatment options. She also announced plans for a 1000-bedded hospital and a medical college to further bolster healthcare infrastructure in the region. Additionally, KMCH will host a health camp on May 18, offering free consultations, medicines, and surgeries to the public, reflecting the institution’s commitment to accessible healthcare. Prof. Nazir Ahmad Khan highlighted that the new technologies will enhance diagnostic accuracy and treatment capabilities, while Prof. Dr. Syed Mubasir and Prof. Dr. Sheikh Sajad noted that these advancements will improve patient care and expand the range of services available, including future plans for vitreoretinal surgeries.
