Kupwara: A Free Cancer Detection and Multi-Speciality Medical Camp was organised at Galzoo Ground, Kupwara, by Quality Healthcare Hospital Drugmullah in collaboration with the Indian Army and Civil Administration Kupwara for the welfare of patients.

The camp focused on early detection and specialised consultation for cancer patients. A dedicated team of oncologists led by Col (Dr) Ashok Kumar (Retd) conducted screenings and provided expert medical advice, enabling timely diagnosis and treatment guidance.

More than 50 cancer patients were screened, while over 400 patients availed services from around 10 specialist doctors across departments including Gastroenterology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, General Medicine, Audiometry, and Gynaecology. The camp also offered free diagnostic tests and a pharmacy service for distribution of medicines.

Deputy Commissioner Kupwara visited the camp and encouraged people to make use of such initiatives, reiterating the need for a “Nasha Mukht and Rog Mukht Bharat” (drug-free and disease-free India).

As part of the outreach programme, a short awareness session on menstrual hygiene and personal cleanliness was also conducted for girl students and madrasa students.

The large turnout and participation reflected strong public engagement and trust in such health initiatives, highlighting cooperation between the administration, security forces, and civil society in strengthening healthcare access in the region.
