Srinagar :In a region facing growing concerns over youth challenges such as drug abuse, social alienation, and negative influences, a grassroots initiative led by social reformer Umar Bhat is steadily making a significant impact across Kashmir.
Founded five years ago, The Right Path Youth Reform & Empowerment Programme has evolved from a local awareness initiative into a broader youth movement focused on education, mentorship, awareness campaigns, and community engagement.
Under the leadership of Umar Bhat, the programme has reached thousands of young individuals across multiple districts, encouraging them to adopt constructive and responsible paths in life. The initiative primarily focuses on guiding youth away from drug addiction, violence, and harmful influences while promoting skill development, education, and social responsibility.
Known for his consistent ground-level work and community outreach, Umar Bhat has earned recognition from various social organizations and district administrations for his contribution to youth empowerment and social reform. The programme has reportedly received more than 80 local awards and appreciations over the years.
Local residents and youth participants have described The Right Path as a positive platform that provides guidance, motivation, and support to young people facing social and personal challenges.
Observers believe the initiative represents an important example of how community-led efforts can contribute toward constructive social change in Kashmir through sustained engagement and grassroots participation.
Speaking on the occasion, Umar Bhat reiterated his commitment to expanding the programme’s outreach and continuing efforts toward building a stronger and more aware youth community in the region.
“The aim is to create hope, responsibility, and opportunities for the younger generation through positive engagement and collective effort,” he said.
As Kashmir continues to witness social transformation, initiatives like The Right Path are increasingly being seen as important platforms for empowering youth and strengthening community participation.
