DC Ganderbal reviews Eid-ul-Adha arrangements

Ganderbal :In order to ensure peaceful and festive observance of Eid-ul-Adha, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore, today chaired a meeting here to review the arrangements being put in place across the district for the upcoming religious festival.

The meeting discussed arrangements related to security, transport, sanitation, uninterrupted water and power supply, healthcare services and availability of essential commodities as well as market checking drives to facilitate smooth celebration of the festival.

The DC directed the concerned departments to ensure hassle-free transport services on all major routes during the festive days. The Municipal authorities were asked to undertake comprehensive sanitation drives around mosques, shrines and Eidgahs in coordination with local committees.

The Health Department was instructed to keep ambulances and medical teams available at major congregation points, while the Power and Jal Shakti departments were directed to maintain uninterrupted services during the Eid days.

The Animal and Sheep Husbandry departments were asked to ensure adequate availability of poultry and sacrificial animals at notified locations and rates for the convenience of the public. Directions were also issued for proper disposal and management of offal and other animal waste to maintain hygiene and cleanliness.

Emphasising strict market regulation, the DC directed joint market checking teams comprising officials from Revenue, Food Safety, FCS&CA, Municipal Council, Legal Metrology and Police departments to intensify inspections to ensure quality and fair pricing of essential commodities, including mutton, poultry, vegetables, fruits, bakery and confectionery items.

He stressed close coordination among all departments and urged officers to remain available on the ground to address public concerns promptly and ensure smooth observance of Eid-ul-Adha across the district.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Syed Faheem Bihaqi; Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Executive Engineer KPDCL, Tehsildars, Assistant Regional Transport Officer, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, officers of Jal Shakti, police and other line departments.
