Jammu :A monthly review meeting of Area Development Officers and District Officers was convened Friday under the chairmanship of Director Agriculture Jammu (DAJ) Anil Gupta here at the office of the Joint Directorate Agriculture (Inputs) Krishi Bhawan.

The meeting discussed financial reconciliation, recovery and seed distribution activities in detail. Stress was laid on the timely recovery of pending seed dues of previous seasons and submission of treasury challans along with revenue realization statements for the month of April 2026.

The Director also reviewed the status of deposits made in the official accounts and directed the concerned officers to ensure submission of pending reconciliation statements pertaining to Rabi 2025-26 and Kharif 2025.

Officers were instructed to furnish complete details regarding seed distribution under various departmental schemes in a time-bound manner.

The Director emphasized the need to promote oilseed crops, pulses and natural farming practices across all districts of Jammu Division. He directed the officers to prepare a comprehensive district-wise action plan for boosting the cultivation of these crops and farming systems in line with the priorities of the Government of India. He stated that several schemes have been launched by the Government of India for promotion of oilseeds, pulses and sustainable agriculture and instructed the field officers to ensure effective implementation at the grassroots level.

The Director also proposed the promotion of Seed Village Programme in all districts of Jammu Division to strengthen quality seed production, improve seed replacement rates and encourage farmer participation in certified seed multiplication activities.

The meeting was attended by Joint Director Agriculture (SLUB/Farms) Aman Jyoti Sharma, Agronomist (VIS) Vikas Padha, Potato Development Officer (PDO) Jammu Ravi Sharma, District Agriculture Officers, Area Development Officers, Store Officers and other concerned officials of the department.
