Ganderbal, May 8: Panic gripped the Chaan Mohalla locality of Gutlibagh in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district after reports of a leopard sighting emerged on Friday evening.

According to local residents, the animal was spotted moving around the area during the evening hours, prompting fear and anxiety among people, particularly children and senior citizens.

The incident has sparked safety concerns in the locality, with residents demanding immediate action from the Wildlife Department to trace the leopard and prevent any possible attack.

Locals urged the authorities to increase monitoring and deploy teams in the area to keep a close watch on the movement of the wild animal. They also appealed for necessary precautionary measures to safeguard the residents.

Meanwhile, people in the area have been advised to stay cautious and avoid unnecessary movement outdoors during late evening and night hours until the situation is normalized.
