Srinagar : In a vibrant stand against the rising tide of substance abuse, hundreds of students from the Kashmir Harvard Educational Institute, in collaboration with the Art of Living Foundation, took to the streets of Srinagar for a massive awareness rally themed: “Nasha Mukt Abhiyan Kashmir – Say No to Drugs, Yes to Life.”
The city’s pulse quickened as a sea of youth marched with hand-painted placards and banners, sending a clear message: Kashmir’s future will not be clouded by addiction.
The rally transformed into a powerful social movement, with slogans like “Drug-Free Kashmir” and “Don’t Let Drugs Destroy Your Dreams” echoing through the streets. The initiative aimed to awaken the public conscience to the devastating toll drugs take on families and the fabric of society.
A major highlight of the campaign was the presence of Vandana Daftari, who marched alongside the students to champion the cause of positivity and purpose.
Addressing the spirited crowd, Daftari delivered a poignant reminder: “When one person gets addicted, it’s not just their life that’s destroyed—it’s their parents and our entire society that suffers. Your life is precious. Choose life.” She emphasized that overcoming the menace requires a four-pillar approach focused on Awareness, Emotional Strength, Community support and Youth engagement. The event, part of the national Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, showcased a seamless partnership between educational excellence and humanitarian spirit. Organizers stressed that a united community approach is the only “ladder to prosperity” for the region.
The Kashmir Harvard Educational Institute reaffirmed its commitment to holistic student development, while the Art of Living Foundation—founded by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar—continues its global mission of stress management and youth empowerment through this local intervention. As the rally concluded, the message remained etched in the city’s skyline: the youth of Kashmir are no longer silent spectators; they are the new ambassadors of a drug-free, secure, and vibrant future.
