Sopore, May 07, In continuation of the ongoing 100-Day Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, Sopore Police intensified awareness and outreach activities across Police District Sopore to combat drug abuse and promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle among youth.
As part of the campaign, a 4-kilometre Run and Walk Marathon was organised at Government Higher Secondary School Hygam to promote fitness and spread the message of “Say No to Drugs, Yes to Life.” Hundreds of students and faculty members participated enthusiastically and pledged to stay away from drugs and adopt a healthy lifestyle.
Further, drug awareness programmes were conducted at Iqra Public School Noorgah Sher Colony Sopore and Government Middle School Bunpora Zaloora, where students were sensitised about the harmful effects of substance abuse, peer pressure, mental well-being and the importance of making informed life choices.
Additionally, an awareness programme was also organised at Police Station Panzalla, aimed at engaging local youth and community members and encouraging collective public participation in the fight against drug abuse.
The programmes witnessed active participation from students, teachers, community members and local residents, reflecting growing public support for the anti-drug campaign.
Sopore Police reiterated that alongside strict enforcement against drug trafficking, sustained awareness, prevention and community outreach remain key pillars of the strategy under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan.
Sopore Police reaffirmed their commitment to building a safer, healthier and drug-free society through continued public engagement and strong action against narcotics.
