Jammu, May 6 (UNI) In the four days of the launch, more than 16,000 passengers have travelled in the Jammu-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express.

Notably, union Railways Minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw along with union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh launched Jammu-Srinagar Vande Bharat from Jammu on May 2.

Sharing the details, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Uchit Singhal, said, “overall, analyzing the occupancy statistics for the four-day period of successful operations from May 2 to 5, approximately 16,349 passengers enjoyed their journey, and the average occupancy rate for these four days stood at approximately 82 percent.”

“This massive volume of passengers clearly demonstrates that pilgrims and tourists are now prioritizing the modern travel experience offered by the Vande Bharat Express over traditional trains,” he said.

The ‘Vande Bharat Express,’ recently launched between Jammu and Srinagar continues to be a major attraction among passengers—not only for its speed but also for its premium services, he said adding, “this semi-high-speed train, a symbol of modern India, has set new records of popularity within just the initial days of its operation, thereby instilling unwavering confidence among travelers.”

A tremendous surge in daily passenger volume has been observed on the Vande Bharat Express operating on this route.

On May 4, the train recorded an occupancy rate of 82 percent, with approximately 4,680 passengers traveling across the two pairs of Vande Bharat services, he said.

Singhal said, “this figure rose to 96 percent the very next day on May 5.”

Pertinent to mention that on Tuesdays, only a single pair of Vande Bharat trains—Nos. 26404 and 26403—remains operational.

On this day, approximately 2,744 passengers undertook their journey.

During their journey, he said that the passengers expressed their delight regarding the train’s state-of-the-art amenities. In their feedback, passengers lauded the following features and offered positive responses; notably, several passengers specifically highlighted the train’s smooth and jerk-free ride, even while navigating through winding tracks.

Passengers praised the quality of the pure and nutritious food being served on the Vande Bharat train, noting that officials from the Jammu Division are conducting continuous inspections on board to ensure that passengers experience no deficiencies whatsoever in the amenities provided, said the official.

Singhal further stated: “The operation of the Vande Bharat Express on the Jammu-Katra route symbolizes the modern transformation of Indian Railways. The fact that occupancy levels have surged from 82 percent to 96 percent in just two days is a matter of immense pride for us.”

“We are delighted that passengers are not only satisfied with the services but are also viewing this train as the most reliable option for their travel needs. We are continuously analyzing the feedback received from passengers to ensure that their journey becomes even more memorable. In the coming times, as the tourism season gains momentum, we anticipate that this train will operate at 100 percent occupancy,” he added.
