DC Anantnag invites stakeholders to Nasha Mukt J&K Padyatra on May 09

Anantnag:In preparation for the upcoming NashaMukt J&K Mega Padyatra scheduled in the district on May 09, the Deputy Commissioner(DC) Anantnag, Dr. Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat Tuesday y held a comprehensive meeting with civil society members, traders, transporters, and other stakeholders at Dak Bunglalow, Khanabal.

ACR, Tariq Ahmad Malik and other concerned officials besides members from civil society, prominent trader and transport associations along with representatives from KP, Sikh and Tribal Communities and others attended the meeting.

Extending formal invitation to the stakeholders for their participation in the Mega Padyatra, the DC said it is essential to engage all stakeholders in the fight against drug abuse and to build a narcotics-free society. He called the rally a major moment for the district to further it’s collective fight against the drug menace and hoped that all stakeholders will join wholeheartedly, demonstrating their support and commitment to the 100 day intensified NMJK campaign.

During the interaction, the Deputy Commissioner appreciated the proactive role of these stakeholders in the NashaMukt J&K Abhiyaan, noting their participation will make the event vibrant and inclusive and also enhance community engagement for the collective cause.

He emphasized that the role of civil society traders, and transporters is indispensable in combating the menace of narcotics and safeguarding the youth. He said the drug abuse poses grave threat to the individuals, families and society which needs sincere and concerted efforts by all stakeholders for it’s timely control and eradication.

Dr. Bilal stated that all associations and sections of the society may participate to send a strong and unified message against the drug abuse. The rally will provide a great opportunity for the district to unite and further it’s resolve against the menace, he stressed.

The participants on the occasion shared valuable suggestions and assured full cooperation and active participation in the upcoming padyatra, reinforcing their collective commitment to the fight against drug abuse in the district.
