Srinagar: Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested eight drug peddlers, including a woman, in multiple coordinated operations in Anantnag and Handwara.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday Police said that significant quantities of charas, poppy straw, brown sugar-like substances, and heroin-like material were recovered during naka checks and searches. Arrests were made from Mattan, Bijbehara, Dialgam, and Handwara areas. Cases under NDPS Act have been registered and further investigation is underway to uncover backward and forward linkages of the network.
