DC oversees arrangements

ANANTNAG: National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2026 was conducted smoothly today at 29 designated examination centres across District Anantnag.

In preparation for the event, the District Administration had made elaborate arrangements in advance, deploying adequate manpower and logistics alongside robust security and surveillance protocols to ensure full integrity of the process.

To ensure fairness and transparency as well as compliance with the NTA guidellines, the administration had made certain key measures including deployment of a sufficient number of observers, magistrates, superintendents, deputy superintendents, supervisors, and invigilating staff. Proper training of the deployed staff had also been conducted as part of the preparatory process.

Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Dr. Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat, accompanied by ADM Tariq Ahmad Malik (ACR) and other concerned officials, visited several centres including SHMM, GDC (Boys), GDC (Women) and GBMHSS, Brakpora to take a firsthand stock of the arrangements, logistics and requisite facilities.

During these visits, the respective centre staff briefed the DC on the specific measures taken for candidate verification, seating arrangements, and the technical readiness of the venues.

The DC instructed the officials that the examination be conducted strictly as per the guidelines and SOPs issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA) while extending full support and guidance to the candidates for their ease and convenience. He emphasized maintaining full coordination among the deputed staff and asked them to immediately flag any issues to the District Control Room so that appropriate action could be taken without delay. He reiterated that the smooth, fair, and successful conduct of examinations is essential to ensure integrity of the selection process.

Notably out of 9286 candidates, 9112 (above 98%) appeared for the test at the designated exam centres. They expressed satisfaction with the overall arrangements and the supportive environment provided at the centres.
