Srinagar, May 4: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has forecast intermittent spells of light to moderate rain and thundershowers across most parts of Jammu and Kashmir on May 4, with chances of hailstorms and gusty winds at isolated places.

According to the MeT, May 5 is expected to witness brief spells of rain and thunder at scattered locations, accompanied by hail and gusty winds in a few areas. However, weather conditions are likely to improve from May 6 to May 9, with a generally dry spell predicted across the Union Territory.

The MeT Centre has issued an advisory warning of possible thunder, lightning, hailstorms, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40–50 kmph in parts of both Kashmir and Jammu divisions.

Residents have been advised to suspend boating and shikara riding activities during the day and to stay away from loose structures, electric wires, and poles to avoid any untoward incidents.
