DC Shopian reviews progress of Mission YUVA

Shopian :A review meeting of Mission YUVA was Saturday held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner (Chairman, DLIC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta at Mini Secretariat Shopian to assess progress under the scheme and streamline its effective implementation.

Reviewing bank wise performance, it was informed that 2883 cases have been sponsored, of which 1318 have been sanctioned and 1178 disbursed, while 1057 cases are under process at various stages, underscoring the need for faster credit linkage and timely disbursal.

On capacity building, six internal trainers have been taken on board, conducting 48 training batches and benefiting 787 entrepreneurs. It was also informed that four batches involving 120 candidates are currently ongoing.

Under enterprise mentorship, 15 mentors have been verified, of which 14 have initiated batches, while 70 candidates are undergoing mentorship training.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC stated that Mission YUVA is a transformative initiative aimed at enabling youth to become self reliant entrepreneurs through financial assistance, skill development, and sustained mentorship.

He directed all concerned departments, banks, and implementing agencies to ensure time bound sanctioning, hassle free disbursal, and zero unnecessary pendency.

The DC further emphasized the need for continuous monitoring, skill enhancement, and improved market access to ensure long term sustainability of the enterprises.

He reiterated that special focus must be given to underprivileged and marginalized youth to strengthen their socio economic conditions.

The meeting was attended by ADDC Shopian (Nodal officer, Mission YUVA) Dr. Nasir Ahmad Lone, Assistant Director Employment, Dr. Nida Yousuf, Functional Manager DIC Shopian,

LDM Shopian along with all Branch Managers, District Programme Manager NRLM along with BPMs, Nodal Officers (UdyamJagriti) from GDC Shopian/Zainapora and ITI Shopian, resource persons of capacity building trainings, newly hired SBDU/BHD members and others.
