Census 2027: 3-day training prog for Field Trainers begins in Shopian

Shopian :District Administration Shopian Saturday commenced a three-day training programme for Field Trainers (FTs) in connection with the forthcoming Census 2027 operations.

The training programme is being organized under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Shopian (Principal Census Officer), Shishir Gupta, to strengthen preparedness for Phase I, House Listing and Housing Census (HLO).

As many as 14 Field Trainers drawn from different departments are participating in the programme.

These Field Trainers will further impart training to Supervisors and Enumerators at their respective charge levels to ensure the smooth and efficient conduct of census activities across the district.

The training sessions are being conducted by Master Trainers from the Directorate of Census Operations, J&K and Ladakh,  RohiniPokhryal and Rais Ahmad Dar, along with Naveen Raghav, District Coordinator, Shopian who are providing detailed guidance on the procedures and operational framework of Census 2027.

The participants are being sensitized about house listing and Housing Census schedules, House- listing block definitions, use of Mobile HLO application, Data quality and confidentiality, and practical field exposures.

During the sessions, emphasis is being laid on maintaining data accuracy, adherence to prescribed guidelines, and timely completion of census activities.

Interactive discussions are also being held to address participants’ queries regarding technical and field-level aspects of the census process.

ADDC Shopian, Dr. Nasir Ahmad Lone, while speaking, emphasized the crucial role of Field Trainers in ensuring accurate and smooth Census 2027 operations and urged them to carry out their responsibilities with dedication and professionalism.

Among others, the training programme was attended by ADC Shopian, Dr. Zakir Hussain Faaz, and DSEO Shopian, Bilkeesa Zahoor.
