Direct Removal of Sensitive Videos, Warn of Action
Pulwama, May 2: Pulwama Police issued a strict advisory urging social media users and members of the media fraternity to refrain from sharing or circulating any videos or photographs related to the tragic incident involving a minor who had slipped into a stream and whose body was retrieved yesterday.
In a statement, police said that any individual or platform found uploading or disseminating such sensitive content will face legal action under relevant provisions of law. “All those who have already shared such material are directed to remove it immediately,” the advisory reads.
The police emphasized the need to respect the dignity of the deceased and the privacy of the bereaved family, stating that circulation of distressing visuals not only intensifies the family’s grief but also violates ethical and legal standards.
Pulwama Police further appealed to the public to act responsibly and maintain sensitivity while using social media platforms.
“Pulwama Police stands in solidarity with the bereaved family in this difficult time,” the statement added.
