Ramban: Continuing the momentum of the ongoing NashaMukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, the District Administration Ramban, under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alyas Khan, organized a series of Padyatras and awareness activities across 34 Panchayats of Banihal, Ukhral, Khari, Ramsoo, Ramban, Rajgarh, Batote, Gandhri, Sangaldan, Gundadhar and Gool blocks.

The initiative aimed at raising mass awareness against drug abuse and promoting a healthy, addiction-free society.

A massive padyatra was conducted at Panchayat Dooligam Upper-B and Panchayat Chaknarwa in Block Banihal under the leadership of SDM   Mohammad NaseebBajraan. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from people of all walks of life, including students, youth, religious leaders and other prominent citizens. Participants raised slogans against drug abuse, spread awareness about its harmful effects and took a collective pledge to contribute towards building a drug-free society.

Similar Padyatras were held in other Panchayats with active involvement of Tehsildars, BDOs and CDPOs, who led the campaign at the grassroots level.

Students from various schools, officials from different departments and community members participated in large numbers, turning the campaign into a mass movement. Awareness messages were widely disseminated, with participants reiterating their commitment to eradicate the menace of drug abuse.

As part of the 100-day NashaMukt campaign, Parent-Teacher Meetings were also organized in schools across the district. The parents were sensitized about the serious consequences of drug abuse and encouraged to play an active role in guiding youth towards a positive and healthy lifestyle.

The overwhelming community participation reflects the strong collective resolve of the people of Ramban to support the administration’s mission of a drug-free society. The district administration remains committed to intensifying such awareness drives to ensure a safer and healthier future for all.
