Srinagar, May 1: Lieutenant General Balbir Singh on Friday assumed charge as the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the strategically crucial XV Corps (Chinar Corps) of Army.
On assuming command, Chinar Corps Commander Lt Gen Balbir Singh extended warm greetings to the people of Kashmir, reaffirming his commitment to work in close coordination with the civil administration and the public to ensure lasting peace and inclusive development in the region.
In a statement, the Corps Commander said that the Army will continue to function in close synergy with the civil administration, security forces and the populace to strengthen the foundations of stability, progress and prosperity across the Kashmir Valley.
He emphasized that a robust and coordinated approach among all stakeholders remains key to maintaining peace and addressing the aspirations of the people, particularly the youth.
Highlighting the transition in leadership, Lt Gen Balbir Singh said that Chinar Corps will remain an enduring symbol of unity, resilience and unwavering commitment, steadfast in its mission to safeguard peace while nurturing the Valley’s rich cultural heritage.
He reiterated the resolve to contribute towards a “Viksit Kashmir”, ensuring a brighter and more secure future for the coming generations.
