Jammu, Apr 30: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday joined Union Ministers Ashwini Vaishnaw and Jitendra Singh at Jammu Railway Station to flag off the Jammu–Srinagar Vande Bharat Express, marking a significant milestone in rail connectivity for Jammu and Kashmir.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said the introduction of the new service marks the beginning of a transformative phase in the region’s development. He said the train will ensure seamless, all-weather connectivity between Jammu and the Kashmir Valley, thereby boosting mobility, tourism and economic activity across the region.

Members of Parliament, Members of Legislative Assembly, and senior officers of Northern Railways and the J&K Government were also present on the occasion.
