Shopian, April 30: Continuing its sustained efforts under the ongoing Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyaan, Shopian Police in close coordination with the District Administration has intensified its crackdown on drug-related activities in the district.

A Police spokesperson said that Apple trees illegally planted on State land, under the possession of Bashir Ahmad Ahanger S/o Ab Gani Ahanger R/o Trenz Imamsahib, involved in FIR No. 07/2020 of Police Station Imamsahib, were cut down during a joint operation by Police and Revenue authorities, ensuring due legal procedure and transparency. Initial verification revealed that the said trees had been illegally planted on State land without proper authorization.

Shopian Police reiterates its commitment to eliminate the drug menace and urges the public to share information regarding drug trafficking, reaffirming its resolve to act firmly against drug peddlers and dismantle illegal assets linked to narcotics-related activities.
