GGM Science College Unites NCC & NSS for Anti-Drug Mission Under NMBA

Jammu :  NCC cadets from the 8 J&K Girls Battalion, in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS) and the NCORD committee, organized a series of drug awareness activities at Govt. Gandhi Memorial Science College as part of the NashaMukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) 100-Days Campaign. The initiative aimed to promote a drug-free campus and foster a healthy, informed, and responsible student community. Under the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta, the program emphasized the importance of awareness and collective responsibility in combating drug abuse among youth. He highlighted that ongoing educational efforts and the engagement of NCC cadets and NSS volunteers are essential for building a resilient, drug-free society. The event included a Poster Making Competition focused on drug abuse awareness and an awareness pledge themed “Say No to Drugs: Break the Chains of Addiction.” These activities were conducted under the Directorate of Colleges, aiming to sensitize students to the dangers of substance abuse. The event saw enthusiastic participation from NCC cadets and NSS volunteers, guided by Dr. Shafia Saleem, Dr. Neha Sharma, Dr. Rahul Kait, and Dr. Devinder Sharma. Participants created impactful posters that conveyed strong anti-drug messages, reflecting a deep sense of social responsibility.
