Srinagar : Police on Wednesday said that it has arrest four drug peddlers in South Kashmir and also recovered significant quantities of illegal substances from their possession.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday Police said that in Pulwama, police intercepted two individuals during routine checks at Khaigam, seizing approximately 636 grams of Ganja. Both suspects were arrested, and a case (FIR No. 70/2026) has been registered at Police Station Rajpora, with further investigations ongoing. In a separate operation, police conducted a search at the residence of one Mohd. Abass Thoker in Audoora, where they recovered 212 grams of a charas-like substance in powder form. This led to the registration of FIR No. 50/2026 at Police Station Litter, and investigations are underway. Additionally, in Anantnag, a drug peddler was apprehended during naka checking at Dodhkol Adhal Vailoo after attempting to flee. Approximately 4.4 kilograms of charas were recovered from him, resulting in the registration of FIR No. 36/2026. Investigations are being conducted to trace the source and network involved in these drug trafficking activities. In its statement Police reiterated its commitment to a zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking and appealed people to cooperate in reporting drug-related activities .
