Jammu :As part of the ongoing “NashaMukt Jammu & Kashmir – 100 Day Campaign”, the Cultural Unit of the Department of Information & Public Relations (DIPR) Jammu Monday organised a Symposium-cum-Theme Based Cultural Programme here at SPMR Commerce College.

The programme aimed at creating awareness among youth about the harmful effects of drug abuse and encouraging them to actively contribute towards building a drug-free society. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students who expressed their views and concerns on the issue through the symposium.

The Chief Guest, Principal Dr. Sunil Gupta, appreciated the initiative and stressed the importance of such awareness programmes in educational institutions. He urged students to act as ambassadors of change and spread the message of a drug-free society in their communities.

The symposium was adjudged by Dr. Chetna Gupta and Dr.AshuManhas, while the programme was convened by Prof. Monika Mahajan and proceedings were conducted by Prof. Shaji Khan.

A number of students participated in the symposium and delivered thought provoking speeches on the subject. Amit, a student of B.Com Semester VI secured the first position for his impactful presentation, while Ridham and Taranpreet were adjudged second and third, respectively.

Adding cultural vibrancy to the programme, artists of the Cultural Unit Jammu presented theme-based songs in Hindi, Dogri and Punjabi, effectively reinforcing the message of “Nasha Mukti” and inspiring the audience through music and performance.

The programme was conducted under the direction of Joint Director Information Jammu Deepak Dubey and under the supervision of Cultural Officer Mohit Sharma.
