Srinagar : Police on Monday said that it has seized two vehicles involved in illegal mineral extraction in Anantnag.
In a statement issued here on Monday Police said that a police party from Police Station Dooru, while on routine patrolling in the wee hours, intercepted two tractors found transporting minerals extracted illegally. Acting promptly, police party seized both vehicles on the spot. In this regard, a formal case has been registered under relevant provisions of law, and further investigation has been initiated.
In its statement Police reiterated its commitment to curb illegal mining and appealed people to cooperate with law enforcement agencies by sharing information regarding such activities.
