Shopian, Apr 27: The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) on Monday resumed its search operation for the second consecutive day near Dubjan Bridge in Shopian to trace a missing 5-year-old boy who fell into Rambiara Nallah.
Officials said that the minor, identified as Mohammad Hunzala, son of Nigar Ahmad Turrey and a resident of Tiken area of Pulwama, accidentally slipped and fell into the nallah, triggering a massive search operation.
They said SDRF Shopian teams, along with local volunteers, are conducting intensive searches in and around the area to locate the child.
Despite strenuous efforts since Sunday, the boy could not be traced, officials said, adding that the search operation was resumed early this morning with renewed efforts.
Authorities have urged locals to remain cautious near water bodies, especially during this time, while further updates are awaited.
