Srinagar :   Police on Friday said that it has deployed its Narcotic Dog Squad across multiple locations in Srinagar  district, significantly strengthening ground-level enforcement under the ongoing NashaMukt Bharat Abhiyan.

In its statement issued here on Friday Police said that the specially trained sniffer dogs were positioned at key checkpoints and sensitive areas to detect concealed narcotics and assist in the swift identification of drug peddlers. Officials said the move has enhanced on-the-spot detection capabilities, making enforcement more effective and precise. The initiative forms part of a broader strategy aimed at dismantling drug supply networks and creating a strong deterrent against narcotics-related activities. Alongside enforcement, awareness programmes are also being conducted to sensitise the public about the dangers of drug abuse. In its statement Police reiterated its commitment to eliminating the drug menace and appealed people to cooperate with it  and share inputs to help curb the spread of narcotics in society.
