Srinagar, Apr 25: Dr Vinod Kumar (IPS) on Saturday assumed charge as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, North Kashmir Range (NKR).
An official spokesperson said that Dr Kumar took over at the Range Police Headquarters in Baramulla, succeeding Maqsood-ul-Zaman (IPS), who has been posted as DIG Armed Police, Kashmir.
Soon after assuming office, Dr Kumar reiterated his commitment towards ensuring transparent, accountable and corruption-free policing across the range, terming it vital for maintaining security and public trust in the region.
