Ganderbal, April 24: Under the “Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan”, Police achieved a major success against drug trafficking by arresting two drug eddlers within the jurisdiction of Police Post Shadipora of Ganderbal district.
A Police spokesperson said that On the directions of SSP Ganderbal, under the supervision of Dy.SP Headquarters Ganderbal, yesterday late evening, during naka checking, police party of PP Shadipora signalled a vehicle (Ertiga) bearing Registration No. JK01BB-1295, coming from Shalhar towards Guzhama, to stop. However, the driver attempted to flee but was tactfully apprehended by the naka party.
During search of the vehicle, Contraband Substance 100 Bottles of Codeine Phosphate were recovered and seized. The driver who disclosed his identity as; Bilal Ahmad Bhat S/O Ghulam Mohd Bhat R/O Batwina, as well as his co-accused Mudasir Ahmad Hajam S/O Abdul Hameed Hajam R/O Arampora, Ganderbal were arrested on the spot.
Accordingly, Case FIR No.61/2026, under Sections 8/21, 29 NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Ganderbal and further investigation has been taken up.
