Srinagar :Presentation Convent Secondary School on Wednesday organised the 16th Venerable Nano Nagle Inter-School Rolling Trophy Debate, with participation from eleven leading schools across the Kashmir Valley.
Students debated the topic “NEP 2020 Ensures Inclusive and Equitable Quality Education and Lifelong Opportunities for All,” presenting diverse viewpoints on education reforms and inclusivity. P. J. Johnson, Founder Principal of G.D. Goenka Public School Srinagar, attended as Chief Guest.
The jury comprised Dr Iffat Maqbool, Professor, Department of English, Kashmir University; Sheikh Gulzar Ahmad, Senior Academic Officer, Languages Branch, SCERT; and Farzana Syed, News Editor, All India Radio Srinagar.
After a keenly contested debate, St Joseph School was declared runner-up, while the host institution clinched the winner’s trophy. Toiba Mushtaq from St Joseph Baramulla and Zoha from Presentation Convent were adjudged best speakers.
Officials said the event aimed to promote critical thinking, public speaking, and awareness on contemporary education policies among students.
