Washington, Apr 24 (UNI) Ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon has been extended by three weeks, US President Donald Trump announced on Friday. The decision was taken at a meeting between Trump, US Vice President J D Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, and Ambassador to Lebanon, Michel Issa, and several high ranking representatives of Israel and Lebanon at the Oval Office in White House.
”The Meeting went very well,” Trump announced on his social media platform.
He said the US will work with Lebanon to help it protect itself from Hezbollah.
He said he looked forward to hosting Israeli Prime Minister of Israel, Bibi Netanyahu, and the Lebanon President Joseph Aoun in the ”near future” although he did not announce the date.
