Rana chairs reviews development projects in Ramban; stresses timely execution, quality monitoring

RAMBAN, APRIL 23: Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana, today chaired a comprehensive review meeting at Batote to assess the progress of developmental works being implemented across Ramban district under various sectors and departments.

The meeting was attended by MLA Banihal Sajjad Shaheen, MLA Ramban Arjun Singh Raju,   Chairman Pollution Control Committee, Vasu Yadav, Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan,  Chief Conservator of Forests Jammu,  V Senthil Kumar,   Conservator of Forests Chenab Circle,  Chief Engineer Irrigation & Flood Control Jammu, Chief Engineer Jal Shakti (PHE) Jammu, Additional SP Ramban and other senior officers of the district administration.

Emphasising improved coordination, effective implementation and close monitoring, the Minister directed the officers to ensure timely completion of projects nearing completion so that these can be dedicated to the public at the earliest. He underscored the need for accountability at all levels, instructing the officials to conduct regular field inspections and submit periodic progress reports to ensure transparency and quality in execution.

Reviewing sector-wise progress, the Minister issued firm directions for timely completion of ongoing works under PWD, PMGSY, Jal Shakti and Irrigation & Flood Control departments. He further instructed the Forest Department to expedite pending forest clearance cases to facilitate early completion of development projects.

Highlighting the importance of disaster preparedness, Rana directed the concerned departments to put in place necessary flood control and mitigation measures in flood-prone areas of the district.

During the meeting, the MLAs projected several developmental demands, including construction of G&B  hostel at Ramban and promotion of tourism infrastructure, particularly forest huts at scenic locations.

The Minister directed the officers to address all issues raised in a time-bound manner, reiterating that concerns of elected representatives reflect the aspirations of the people and must receive due administrative attention.

Earlier, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alyas Khan apprised the Minister of the physical and financial progress achieved under various schemes, including PWD, PMGSY, Jal Shakti, JPDCL, Forest and other line departments. He also briefed the meeting on the status of key ongoing projects and the administration’s efforts to strengthen public service delivery and improve socio-economic conditions across the district.
