Srinagar, April 23:As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, Srinagar Police on Thursday has intensified its enforcement and preventive measures across the district to curb the menace of drug abuse.

Srinagar Police carried out comprehensive inspection drives of chemist shops falling under their respective jurisdictions. The drives were aimed at ensuring strict compliance with the regulations governing the sale and distribution of medicines.

During the inspections, medical shops were thoroughly checked to ensure that no medicines are being sold in violation of the provisions of the NDPS Act. Shopkeepers were sensitized about adhering to legal guidelines, maintaining proper sale records, and strictly dispensing medicines only on valid prescriptions.

They were also advised to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement agencies in preventing the misuse of pharmaceutical drugs.

Srinagar Police reiterates its firm commitment to maintaining law and order and eradicating the drug menace from society. The general public is urged to actively support this initiative by adhering to the law and sharing any information related to drug-related activities with the police.
