Srinagar, April 22 (UNI) The Meteorological Department has predicted largely dry weather across Jammu and Kashmir over the next several days, with only brief spells of light rain and thundershowers expected intermittently till end-April.

According to the MeT forecast issued on Wednesday, weather conditions on April 22-23 are expected to remain generally dry, although a brief spell of light rain may occur at a few places towards late afternoon.

From April 24-25, the weather is likely to turn partly to generally cloudy, with scattered to many areas receiving light rain or thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds, mainly during late afternoon and evening hours.

The outlook for April 26 suggests mostly dry conditions, with isolated light rain possible in the afternoon.

The weather is expected to remain dry again on April 27-28. However, cloud cover is likely to increase from April 29-30, bringing brief spells of light rain or thundershowers at a few places.

The weather department also warned of a gradual rise in day temperatures by 2–4°C at many places across the union Territory till April 23.

Overall, no major weather disturbance is expected, though intermittent light rainfall and gusty winds may bring short-term changes in conditions across the region.

Meanwhile, night temperatures across Kashmir remained above normal by 0-2°C at many places, while Jammu division recorded minimum temperatures near normal, varying between 1-3°C across several areas.

In Kashmir, the tourist resort of Pahalgam was the coldest, recording a minimum temperature of 4.4°C. In the Jammu division, Bhaderwah registered the lowest minimum at 9.4°C, indicating relatively milder night conditions across the region.
