Jammu: Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana Tuesday chaired a meeting at Civil Secretariat here to review the status of infrastructure upgradation of Government Degree College (GDC) Mendhar.
During the meeting, the Minister took a comprehensive review of the progress on ongoing works and emphasised the need for timely completion of all projects to strengthen academic infrastructure at the college.
It was resolved that the ongoing infrastructure works, particularly the Girl’s Hostel, shall be completed on priority to ensure adequate residential facilities for girl students. The meeting also decided that other essential amenities and infrastructure at the college will be upgraded in a phased and time-bound manner to enhance the overall academic environment.
The Minister stressed close coordination among the concerned departments to ensure speedy execution of works and directed the officers to maintain strict timelines for completion.
The meeting was attended by Director RUSA, Director Planning Higher Education, Director Colleges, Chief Engineer PWD (R&B) and Executive Engineer PWD (R&B) Mendhar, among other concerned officers.
