Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested six drug peddlers and also seized a significant quantity of contraband in separate operations across Anantnag, Shopian, and Awantipora.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday Police said that in Anantnag, police recovered 2.242 kg cannabis powder from three accused in Janglatmandi and 8 kg charas-like substance from another accused in Kokernag.
In Shopian, 4.340 kg charas-like substance was seized from a suspect in Imamsahib. In Awantipora, police recovered around 131 grams of charas-like substance from an accused at Chersoo. Cases have been registered and investigations are underway to identify wider networks. In its statement Police appealed people to cooperate in curbing drug trafficking.
