Udhampur, Apr 20: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday announced immediate financial assistance from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for the victims of the tragic road accident in Udhampur.
As per an official statement, an ex gratia of ₹2 lakh has been sanctioned for the next of kin of each deceased, ₹1 lakh for those seriously injured, and ₹25,000 for persons who sustained minor injuries in the mishap.
The Chief Minister said that no amount of financial assistance can compensate for the irreparable loss of lives, but the relief is being provided as an immediate measure to support the affected families in this hour of grief.
He also reiterated that the government stands firmly with the victims and assured that all necessary assistance and support will be extended to them.
