Jammu: Government College for Women Parade Ground organized a debate competition under the NashaMukt Bharat Abhiyan, reinforcing its commitment to promoting a drug-free society among youth. The programme was conducted by the College Wellbeing and Anti-Substance Cell (CWAC) under the chairpersonship of Principal Dr.Ravender Kumar Tickoo, with Dr. Archana Gupta as Coordinator. The event was organized in collaboration with the NSS/NCC wing of the college.
The debate, themed “Say No to Drugs”, aimed to raise awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse. Following students namely: Ankita Jena (UG, Sem II); Ojeswi, Janvi, Samya (UG, Sem IV), Akshita (UG Sem VI) BavneetKour, Kajal, Akriti (PG Sem II) participated enthusiastically, presenting insightful arguments on the social, psychological and economic consequences of drug addiction, while also suggesting preventive measures and emphasizing community responsibility. Around 50 students and faculty members attended the programme. An interactive session between students and CWAC members was also held, fostering open dialogue and enhancing awareness on substance abuse-related issues.
The event concluded with the administration of the NashaMukt Bharat Pledge, with participants reaffirming their commitment to a drug-free India.
